Letter XCI: Marcus Cornelius Fronto to Marcus Aurelius

I am keeping the vintage in my "gardens."1 I am fairly well, but I cannot walk with comfort owing to pain in the toes of my left foot. Every morning I pray the Gods for Faustina, for you know that by so doing I wish and pray for your health. Farewell, my most sweet Lord. Greet my Lady.

145–147 A.D.

To my master.

1Probably his residence on the Esquiline, the Horti Maecenatiani.
